Do I need sales experience?

Sales experience helps, but it is not the only path in. The application is reviewed for reliability, communication, availability, work setup, and coachability. Selected applicants are invited to the fluency check before academy access.

How am I paid?

This is contractor appointment-setting work. Compensation details are reviewed with selected candidates during onboarding, after the application gate.

What hours can I work? Can I do this during school hours or after the kids are in bed?

Yes to both. The live queue runs during US business-day windows when prospects answer the phone. Most setters pick the window that fits their life: school hours, evenings, weekends, or a mix. Many of our top performers are parents working around the kids.

What equipment do I need?

Accepted Answer

A computer (Mac or PC), a reliable internet connection, and a USB headset with a microphone. That is it. No phone line is required. Calls go through our browser-based dialer. Total equipment cost if you do not already have a headset: $30 to $60.

Is this 1099 or W-2? How do taxes work?

Accepted Answer

1099 independent contractor. You receive a 1099-NEC at year-end for tax filing. We do not withhold taxes from your bi-weekly direct deposit, so plan to set aside roughly 20 to 30 percent for self-employment + federal taxes depending on your bracket. A CPA or TurboTax can handle this in 10 minutes.

Can I do this from any US state?

Yes, from any of the 50 states + DC, provided you can work daytime US business hours from your time zone. No state-specific licensing required for appointment-setting. We do not currently hire from outside the United States.

What does the fluency check actually test?

Accepted Answer

A short English comprehension and clarity gate. It is not an accent test. It checks whether prospects on the phone can clearly understand you before training resources are opened.

How long is training and how soon can I start dialing?

Training only starts after application review and fluency approval. The academy path includes modules and roleplay before anyone reaches live calling.

How does the platform actually help me on calls?

Every lead in your queue arrives with a call brief on screen: a personalized opener for this specific prospect, the core pitch, the most likely objection plus how to handle it, and the set goal. The card is prepared before you dial, sourced from the prospect profile. Between calls, sales guidance is available before and after calls. Prospectus Maximus does not talk to the prospect. You do. The card just means you walk in prepared.

What if I am not good at this?

The gate exists so people find out before they talk to real prospects. Application review, fluency, academy modules, and roleplay all happen before live queue access.

Is there a cost to apply or join?

Accepted Answer

Zero. The academy is free, the platform tools are free, and there is nothing to buy at any stage. Anyone asking you to pay something to start a setter role at Hot N Fresh is not us.
