Yes to both. The live queue runs during US business-day windows when prospects answer the phone. Most setters pick the window that fits their life: school hours, evenings, weekends, or a mix. Many of our top performers are parents working around the kids.
1099 independent contractor. You receive a 1099-NEC at year-end for tax filing. We do not withhold taxes from your bi-weekly direct deposit, so plan to set aside roughly 20 to 30 percent for self-employment + federal taxes depending on your bracket. A CPA or TurboTax can handle this in 10 minutes.

Getting started

No. The 18-hour advanced sales academy walks you through everything: the fluency check, 8 short modules covering the playbook, and 9 hours of live AI roleplay simulations before you ever dial a real number. The right person can succeed with zero prior experience. The wrong person will not make it through the academy regardless of resume.
A computer (Mac or PC), a reliable internet connection, and a USB headset with a microphone. That is it. No phone line is required. Calls go through our browser-based dialer. Total equipment cost if you do not already have a headset: $30 to $60.
Zero. The academy is free, the platform tools are free, and there is nothing to buy at any stage. Anyone asking you to pay something to start a setter role at Hot N Fresh is not us.

The academy + the work

Yes, from any of the 50 states + DC, provided you can work daytime US business hours from your time zone. No state-specific licensing required for appointment-setting. We do not currently hire from outside the United States.
A short 2 to 3 minute exercise where you read a few sentences aloud and answer a couple of plain conversational questions. It is not graded on accent. It is checking that prospects on the other end of the phone can clearly understand you. Most native and fluent English speakers pass on the first try.
Most applicants complete the academy in 5 to 10 days at their own pace. Once you have passed all 8 modules and 9 hours of roleplay, you are cleared for the live queue. Some clear it in a weekend, others take two weeks. There is no rush, but there is no skipping either.
You will find out during academy roleplay, before you ever talk to a real prospect. The system is built to filter, not to embarrass. If you do not pass the roleplay bar, you will not reach the live queue. Most applicants do not make it that far. We are picky on purpose.
